Abstract

In Vietnam, for a long time, training programs of higher education institutions only focused on fostering scientific knowledge without paying enough attention to legal knowledge and life skills. The lack of synchronization in education has resulted in the young generation's low legal consciousness, leading to serious crimes in this age-grade. Students crime accounts for a high percentage of the total number of offenders, and there is an increasing trend in which many cases lead to crime due to a poor understanding of the law. Therefore, in the context of innovation and integration of Vietnam today, raising legal awareness for all members of society, especially students, is set as an objective necessity. Students are progressive social class, equipped with a relatively comprehensive knowledge system, dynamic, creative, active, and acumen in research learning as well as in social relations. However, students' understanding of the law is not comprehensive and profound. This has raised the need to identify some orientations and solutions towards improving the effectiveness of legal education for students according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the current period. From the approach of philosophy, social philosophy, and political philosophy, the article analyzes and clarifies basic orientations and solutions towards improving the effectiveness of legal education for students according to Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the current period in Vietnam. The article is structured with four contents related to an overview of the basic contents of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on the law; achievements, limitations, and problems of legal education for students in Vietnam today; Current orientations to improve the effectiveness of legal education for students and basic solutions to improve the effectiveness of applying Ho Chi Minh's ideology in legal education for students today in Vietnam.
