The Impact of HIV/AIDS-Related Knowledge on Positive Reactions to HIV/AIDS Infected Persons in Southern Border Areas of Thailand

Abstract

This research is quantitative research which has research objectives to explore relationship analysis and analyze the influence between knowledge, understanding and awareness of HIV and AIDS in the three southern border provinces of Thailand by the 1,200 samples, A five point Likert scale was used for the questionnaire, the descriptive statistics, Crosstabs, Chi-square test and Logistic regression analysis was used for analysis the data. The results of the research revealed that the younger population had the opportunity to have knowledge, understanding and awareness of the disease. HIV and AIDS were statistically significant at the 0.001 level (CI 95% = 0.908-0.970). The widowed status and marital status had a statistically significant level of knowledge, understanding and awareness of HIV and AIDS at the (CI = 95% = 12,772-447.033, 6.395-191.746) and those who self-assessed HIV and AIDS knowledge, understanding and awareness of HIV and AIDS. statistically significant at the level 0.001 (CI 95% = 2.214-5.307) respectively.
